Application Support Engineer

About the Role

Support Services Group is looking for an Application Support Engineer to join our team and provide technical support for production applications and systems.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of REST APIs, basic SQL, and web troubleshooting , along with strong communication and documentation skills. This role is focused on monitoring and troubleshooting production issues, identifying root causes, and clearly documenting findings and resolutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage production issues and application-related incidents.
• Troubleshoot and browser-related issues using browser Developer Tools.
• Perform API testing and troubleshooting using Postman.
• Run basic SQL queries to validate and investigate application data.
• Analyze issues and identify potential causes or patterns.
• Review and interpret basic logs and error messages when troubleshooting.
• Document technical findings, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions clearly.
• Communicate technical issues and findings effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
• Follow established troubleshooting and escalation processes.
• Collaborate with other technical teams when issues require additional investigation.

Required Qualifications

• Solid understanding of fundamentals and REST APIs .
• Basic knowledge of SQL and ability to run queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience using Postman for API testing.
• Experience troubleshooting web or application issues using browser Developer Tools .
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to clearly document technical findings and troubleshooting activities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with application and system logs .
• Basic understanding of JSON .
• Familiarity with authentication concepts such as tokens, API keys, or basic authentication .
• Previous experience in Application Support, Technical Support, Production Support, or a similar role .
• Familiarity with incident management and troubleshooting processes.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable troubleshooting technical issues . You don't need to be a software developer, but you should be comfortable working with APIs, basic SQL queries, browser tools, and technical documentation.

Strong communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to explain technical findings clearly and document issues accurately .
